Annick Kanter-Saint Hubert was born in Mons, Belgium and started singing in her father’s church choir at the age of 7; she quickly memorized all 4 parts of every song and thus began her love of choral music. She studied theology at the University of Louvain, Belgium and moved to Louisiana upon graduation. There, she took a position as Music Director at St John’s Cathedral in Lafayette. While in Lafayette, she met Michael Doucet, founder of the Cajun Band ‘Beausoleil’ and started singing with the group. She recorded several CDs with them; the group was nominated 3 times for Grammy Awards. Traveling extensively became too difficult for Annick, so she again focused her musical energy on choral music. After leaving Louisiana, she served as music director in San Antonio, and in 1992 took the position she now enjoys as music director at Resurrection Church in Burtonsville, MD. She is the director of the Living Arts Concert Series and is also the founder and director of a Chamber Women’s Choir: Voix de Femmes.
