Megan Fitzharris is the choral director at Briggs Chaney Middle School in Silver Spring, MD. With her career starting in 2002, she previously taught in public schools in Massachusetts and at the Maret School in Washington, D.C. Ensembles under her direction have received the highest awards given at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association festivals and the Great East Festival. Her middle school choruses have been selected to perform at the White House, the Massachusetts Music Educators Association All State Conference, and Symphony Hall in Boston as well as other venues. Megan has conducted middle school choral festivals in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She has also led workshops on the music of West Africa and middle school choral techniques. She is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association and is the co-coordinator for the Voices United Honor Chorus. Megan received her Bachelors of Arts in Music from Salisbury University and her Masters of Music Education from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. Outside of music, Megan loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys reading and being outdoors, including hiking. Happy when traveling and exploring new things, she has traveled to multiple countries in Europe, Costa Rica, Morocco, and Ghana.
