Megan Fitzharris, Middle School/Junior High Repertoire and Resources
Briggs Chaney Middle School
Megan Fitzharris is the choral director at Briggs Chaney Middle School in Silver Spring, MD. With her career starting in 2002, she previously taught in public schools in Massachusetts and at the Maret School in Washington, D.C. Ensembles under her direction have received the highest awards given at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association festivals, the Great East Festival, and Music in the Parks Festival. Her middle school choruses have been selected to perform at the White House, the Massachusetts Music Educators Association All State Conference, and Symphony Hall in Boston as well as other venues. Megan has conducted middle school/junior high choral festivals in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She has also led workshops on the music of West Africa and middle school choral techniques. Additionally, Megan is the Artistic Director of the Briggs Chaney Intergenerational Chorus, a community ensemble that is open to everyone regardless of age and experience. Megan received her Bachelors of Arts in Music from Salisbury University and her Masters of Music Education from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.
